Last night after softball practice and dinner I watched the pilot for 10 Things I Hate About You on ABC Family (I seriously HEART that channel), and had thirty minutes to spare, so I flipped my TV to Bravo and tuned into the show NYC Prep (advertised as the the "Real Life Gossip Girl").
My mom always taught me that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Apparently these children (yeah I said it), were not taught the same manners. Luckily for them, I will try to stay true to the motto and just say that this show and the "stars" on it, are disgusting. I am mad I wasted thirty minutes of my life watching these spoiled kids speak so highly of themselves and walk around with their noses in the air. Honestly, I was disturbed after watching these 15-18 years behave and speak as they did. Not attractive at all, and just because you have money, it doesn't make it alright for you to look down on everyone who doesn't.
Lastly...where are these kids parents? Do they watch this show and pat themselves on the back and say "job well done"? I understand that two of the characters are 18 and can make the decisions on their own, but what parent in their right mind allows their 15 year old daughter to be on the show?
I will get off my soapbox now, and guarantee that I will NEVER watch that ridiculous show again.

I agree Lynds. I to watched it last night and was so grossed out. When the kid was in Cabo and met girls from Texas and was making fun of the fact that they were from Texas. I felt sad for him. Little kids with no idea what the real world is. I just cant believe kids really think and act that way.
The one girl, believe it or not, lives in NYC alone while her family lives in the Hamptons. I don't know her exact age, but she isn't one of the 18 year olds. It really is just wrong.
I watched about 10 minutes of it and had to change the channel - seriously absurd! I can't believe the parents of these kids would allow them to be filmed. The show should be called "How Not to Parent Your Children...Because Look How They'll Turn Out"
I am very much with you. It is kind of disturbing and sad. I watched about 30 minutes too and that was enough!
I agree. I was hoping it would be alright, but it made me sick. I went to a very privilaged school in the valley, and no one was like this. our parents wouldve all killed us and thrown us into public schools if we acted like these kids. Its just horrible.
I am utterly addicted to this show! It's like watching a train wreck, I mean, you do these kids think they are?
