No You Weren't Supposed To Put Bacon In The Peanut Brittle...

It did NOT taste good.

Back in November I posted about my love for all things bacon. I shared that I was dying to try the Sir Francis Bacon Peanut Brittle, and lucky me...Mrs. R brought some for me to sample this weekend.

In a nutshell, the experience was GROSS. It was too smokey and just not good at all. Another bacon dessert disappointment. Back to the drawing board I go.

However, I must share with all of you LA folk (or peeps planning to visit soon) that I may have found the best bacon at a restaurant ever. La Grande Orange in Santa Monica uses a date glaze over their bacon and it is glorious. Perfectly crisp with just a touch of sweetness.

So I continue on with my search for the best bacon dessert, I may have a long journey ahead, but I am willing to give it a go.

One dessert that I do not believe will disappoint at all is this Toasted Marshmallow Shake...

SERIOUSLY?? YUM!

I really want to try that marshmallow shake recipe too!

I love bacon but bacon and chocolate just does not appeal to me. I had the Vosges bacon bar and didn't care for it (although I love all things Vosges otherwise!).

I laughed when I saw that JD the makers of bacon Salt (go cougs) is now dabbling in bacon flavored microwave popcorn. Somebody try it out and give a review.

I might have one for you. One of my friends made chocolate chip cookies with bacon in them, and I've heard by more than one reliable source that they were yummy. Might want to give it a try.

My hubby makes the best bacon ever. He puts a wire rack over a cookie sheet and lays the bacon out on the rack and bakes it in the over. It takes about 20 minutes, but it's super crispy, flat (which for some reason is really important to me) and not greesy at all! It's just pure bacon bliss!
