Song Of The Week: Sometime Around Midnight (Acoustic Version)
So I am basically a summer late in sharing one of my absolute favorite songs, Sometime Around Midnight (Acoustic Version - Bonus Track) by The Airborne Toxic Event. Last summer I listened to this song on repeat when walking the dog, driving to work, whatever. At a summer gathering, a gentleman and I were chatting about music we loved and he also shared he was obsessed with this song.
The song tells a story about a man running into his ex-girlfriend and how all the memories come flashing back, and he desires to rekindle this past even though she has moved on, depressing much? Yes. But the song is raw and vulnerable, and that is what makes it so beautiful. The song starts slow and almost in a whisper and then just erupts into full blown emotion.
The lead singers voice is beautiful and the violin's get me every time. I haven't listened to it in a while and when I shuffled through to most played songs, I knew I just had to share this beauty regardless of how sad and angry it is.
