Pintrest Copycat

a few months ago i found this image on pintrest and fell head over heels with the look and wanted to immediately buy the outfit from head to toe.

turns out the dress is calypso and i can't seem to find it available anywhere, but what i did find was this gap pleated bib dress which is just darling in person and totally affordable.  paired with the frye paige tall riding boots the look is almost identical.

pretty sure i am going to have to find a way to make this look happen immediately as it just about the perfect spring outfit!

Forever Frugal Friday ~ Preen Inspiration OOTD

(thank you jen for taking my photo...i felt ridiculous!)

two weeks ago i picked up the CUTEST bright pink blazer at forever 21 from their heritage 21 section (L.A. peeps - i bought it upstairs at the culver city/fox hills store) for $22.80!  i mean what a steal!  i couldn't wait to share this find with you all!  i am sad however, to report that i cannot find it online for the life of me!

so instead i thought i would share my cute pink knockoff of the amazing incredible Preen Hutchinson Jacket (i mean can we just discuss the price difference here?) and how i wore it to work today.  i received numerous compliments, surprisingly the most compliments came from men who really liked the "flashy neon", called me "pink panther" and liked my "pink version of the masters green jacket".

i am really wanting to pick up another bold blazer, and think any of the below are sure to be the perfect accent piece to add into your spring wardrobe!  perfect for work, play and if you really want to get crazy, some color blocking trending with colored jeans!  eek!

Forever Frugal Friday ~ Splurge vs. Steal

Ever since I first saw the T-Mobile commercial with that cute bright pink Marc for Marc Jacobs 'Jailbird Stripe Dress' I have been hunting for a cheaper version of my own.  Well wouldn't you just know that Forever's Striped Dress w/ Belt is a great alternative at a fantastic price.  Don't worry, you won't end up jailed for this fantastic steal!

Forever Frugal Friday ~ Replicate

I may be alone here, but I have always been a Kristin Cavallari fan.  I always liked her better than LC on Laguna Beach and started watching The Hills once she took over for LC.  She's a bitch and she's got her issues for sure, but I love how blunt she is, love her style and think she plays the "bitch" role just right.

When I saw this picture, I just fell in love with the look (and her gorgeous hair) and wanted to recreate the look for less.  Sadly I couldn't find a gray long sleeved top like hers but I think the navy will do just fine.  And the studded tote is a little different but still functional and funky.  Chances are you already have a lot of these pieces in your closet and may only need one or two items to achieve this look.

Perfect for a Saturday stroll to your local cafe, or that backyard BBQ party.  Kristin nailed summer cool here.

Forever Frugal Friday: Bananas!

This week I was browsing Banana online and noticed this adorable ensemble and instantly had to create my own version at a better price.

The Beaded Sequin Bib Necklace is the perfect accessory piece for this fall. Pair it with that plain white t-shirt or even a tank, and you have instant glamour goodness.

I had to reach out into other discount shopping sites for the Black Solid Color Shirred Detail Dress. It isn't a perfect comparison but, with the entire dress + necklace combo only running you under $45 and the single Banana Dress on sale for $79.99, I think the differences are small enough in the long run.
